At Chimera Studios we pride ourselves in the quality of our equipment. From retro 'class a' Valves to digital amp modelling we have all the toys you need. They're all brand new and we'll record your settings at the end of your rehearsal and then reset them for you every time you return to Chimera.
Our PA systems are based around Spirit FX8 mixing desks. We can offer up to 8 mic inputs and 4 stereo inputs for keyboards, MP3 players etc. The desks have built in Lexicon vocal effects, delays and reverbs. We'll dress the room with the mics you need before you arrive and we'll only ever use industry standard Shure SM58 vocal mics on good quality stands.
We'll make sure that your room is always fully stocked with great gear and all the mics will be tested before you arrive. No broken mic stands or buzzing amps here, we have spare equipment and staff on hand to help out with anything you need from extra equipment to a round of teas.
All our equipment is brand new and we're constantly adding more amps and keyboards to our 2 rooms. If you use Line 6 equipment then you'll be pleased to hear you can email your amp settings to us and we'll import them into our Flextone III amps so you're ready to play using your own settings the moment you arrive.
If you don't like digital gear then we have plenty of classic amps from solid state to all valve. From modern solid state amps like the Crate and the Marshall Valvestate to the class a tubes in the Valve King and the VC30, we're sure to have an amp that's right for you.
Our bass amps are jammed full of glowing valves and are surprisingly versatile. They will switch effortlessly from a smooth round sound to a distorted filthy rock bass and they come with a switchable EQ that's intuitive to use and makes it easy to get your sound just right.
Don't like fiddling with amps endlessy at the begining of your rehearsals? Remember that we'll record the settings from all your amps and restore them for you before every rehearsal.
